easter sunday

after church we met the family for brunch at park tavern. the food was great and the weather was just perfect. we havnt all gathered there since our wedding almost 6 years ago. how time flies! caleb collected easter eggs and got the coolest thomas the train easter basket. it happened to be the twins 3 month birthday. what a great day to celebrate jesus :)

a weekend spent with good friends

this weekend was the annual dogwood festival at piedmont park. yep you guessed it, my favorite place to be on a beautiful spring day. we watched the kids (julien, tray, and danny) climb to the top of the wall and their prize if they reached the top was a bag of cotton candy. they really wanted the candy because they had no problems reaching the top, legs quivering and all!

marla and atiba invited us over to their house to have benjamin and caleb play together. we enjoyed food fresh off the grill and plenty of laughs! lamarra, paco, julien, tray, and danny joined us as well.

basketball or football

so caleb is finally into his basketball goal he got this past christmas. the only problem is he loves throwing the football into the basketball goal. he is actually a pretty good lefty. oh so proud to call this blessing my son!

week of the young child

at the kid's school every year they have the week of the young child. this event supports literacy in the community. on monday everyone in the whole school wore pajamas for pajama day! caleb and the twins were dressed for the occasion when on the way to school caleb decided he wanted to throw up all is breakfast. it was a mess (and stinky, too)! i had to make a mad dash to target to fix the problem. my super mom powers kicked in at this time. i rushed caleb straight to the pj isle, grabbed a pack of wipes off the nearest shelf, and changed him right in the store. after the quick wipe down we payed for the new pjs and raced back to school. he turned out to be just fine. seems like he gets car sick if the driver (a.k.a. me) whips around corners or drives too swirly. he usually only gets sick when my dad drives him, lol, but apparently he just realized who taught me how to drive!

ok, keep in mind this is NOT caleb's scooter he is on. he has a red radio flyer bike with all the bells and whistles. i guess this just reminds me that we always want what we dont have. thursday they had a trike a thon where the whole school brings there bikes and trikes. its so cute because at the end of the trike a thon all the kids got their trike license! even ava and zander got their license and we all know they did not ride a trike.

wednesday the parents were invited to eat lunch with their kids. i couldnt get off work at this time so del stepped in. its great having him close by to hang with all the kids. he had "milk" with ava and zander and...

ran upstairs to have chicken with caleb. apparently caleb loved the food that daddy brought for him. del says he not only ate school lunch, but 2 chicken fingers, hawaiian bread, and a few chips. i guess he was pretty hungry. im so proud of caleb because when lunch was over he washed his hands and went straight to his nap without a fuss. its great knowing he is comfortable in his class without his parents :)

we donated books to each of the kid's classrooms and of course bought caleb a few books from the book fair. each child decorated thier own flower and the finished product was put up all over the school and there was even a bubble party on the blacktop. overall the week was fun and interactive. im so thankful that my kids get to experience a school setting like they have. the teachers are loving and best of all my dear husband is always close by. i know that god totally hooked us up on this great school experience!

we had a small gathering at school to celebrate caleb's birthday. before the kids had cupcakes and juice their teacher distracted them with bubbles. who wouldnt want to pop bubbles at 2 years old!? thats right...caleb. he would rather read a book lol...

who would have ever guessed that 2 years ago today i would not only be the last day i felt you kick in my belly, but the first day i laid eyes on you! i remember like it was yesterday, your first cry. I could not believe that you were actually mine. you were beautiful and just perfect. little did i know you would change my life forever. you have been a blessing from god, and everyday i look forward to the amazing things you do and say. you are very active and right now you love to jump wherever you go. you love music and to dance, when no one is watching. you have a small obsession with the ipod touch and know how to maneuver it like a true pro. i love when you find a song to listen to while playing angry birds or the matching game. you are the best big brother a set a twins could ever ask for! you know what you want and comprehend pretty much everything we say. you love thomas the train and right now your favorite character is spencer. your smile is contagious and i fall deeper in love with you every day!

after school grammy and i took you to chick fi la to get dinner and ice cream. after you ate you played at the indoor playground and cried once you reached the top. i think you were too scared to come down so i had to bring out the ipod to convience you to come back down.

the twins

before school the twins were hanging together. they played with each other's hands on the play mat and were making noises (maybe talking baby code??). here are some shots of them before school...

just another beautiful saturday...

we began our day at the marietta square with a group crossfit workout. grammy hung out with the twins and caleb while i completed the 18 min workout. lamarra, paco, julien, kennedy, and kendall met us there. we ate lunch together and then headed out to piedmont park, one of my favorite weekend hangouts. with uncle miles in the square

off to piedmont park... i had all three kids by myself and couldnt wait for lamarra and her crew to meet up with us. it was challenging keeping up with caleb while strolling the twins at the playground. when they finally arrived i was relieved!!

paco grilled hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken, and steak. caleb definitely enjoyed his cookie here...

the twins were wrapped up because in the shade it was quite breezy

we even got serenaded by a man and his guitar.
