our life the last 3 weeks...

so its been almost 3 weeks since the twins have come and our family finally feels complete. here is an update of whats been going on in the hewitt household... lets see, so far we have gone through 8 packs of wipes, 9 packs of diapers, 12 bottles a day, been peed on at leaset once by each kid, and many many loads of laundry. with three kids in the house all under the age of 2 it can be a little pricey! im not complaining though, it just shows us we have to be more cautious of where our money goes.
the twins got to come home on daddy's birthday! that was pretty cool, but with all the ripping and running i hope del was able to enjoy it :) his mother flew in from st. croix on this day, and while he was at the airport a friend came over to sit with me while del was gone. i was still super sore from the surgery and was so ready to be home.

for the past 3 nights ava and zander have been sleeping through the night, except for feedings, and caleb has not come out of his bed. needless to say, its been pretty nice! i think they have some kind of special code/language going on, who knows what caleb convinced them to do!

yesterday, del walked in and screamed WOW... so while im at home all day, and at night, i have a pretty steady routine packed down. i make the bottles, change the kids, and try to feed them at the same time. i dont always get to feed them together, but you better believe its one right after the other, even if they are sleeping. this way their bodies are on the same schedule and i have my sanity. i told del this is how we do it when no one is around and made him take a pic... it last longer, lol

last week after one of our late night feedings, ava and zander had a hiccup contest. they were ping ponging back and forth for a good 10 mins. its amazing to watch them do things at the same time. when i was pregnant they always got the hiccups!!

caleb is slowly coming around with his adjustment to the twins. everyday when he comes home from school he resorts to his 'man cave' to watch thomas. he has been obsessed with thomas the train lately, and before his grandma O left she bought him a thomas the train magazine. his reaction was priceless...

del's mom left after 2 weeks and trying to recreate her omelets has not been successful. she was an amazing help and we will miss her so, but look forward to an upcoming visit in june.

so far parenting has been an amazing gift from god. i look forward to the many many more blessings that he has up his sleeve for the hewitt family. we are all so blessed beyond what we could ever imagine. thanks to everyone who has been there to help us these past few weeks. you are truly appreciated :)
